Which AI do I need?
Answer six questions and see which of nine AI assistants fit your needs, which to check first and which do not, from official pages. Nothing is sent or stored.
After reading this article you will be able to:
- See which AI assistants allow your age or your child's, run on your devices and have menus in Italian
- Find, for each assistant, the setting that keeps your chats out of training and where it is
- Know what the tool cannot tell you, such as which assistant writes better
On this page
This site is written with AI tools, including Claude by Anthropic, one of the assistants compared here. The comparison uses only the makers' published information, with links. Everything happens in your browser: your answers are not sent or stored.
The AI assistant you need is the one that fits the facts of your situation: who will use it, on which devices, whether you need the menus in Italian, whether you are in Italy, and how you want your chats handled. The tool above checks those facts for nine assistants, from the makers’ own pages and, for DeepSeek in Italy, the data protection authority, and sorts them into three groups: those that fit all your answers, those to check first, and those that do not fit. It does not say which one writes or reasons better: that depends on what you ask, and this site compares only what the makers publish.
An AI assistant here means a chat program like ChatGPT: you type or speak a question and it writes an answer. The nine are the same as in the monthly comparison of AI assistants, and the tool reads the same data, so when the comparison is updated, the tool is too. If you are new to all this, AI for everyone explains what these assistants are and how to use them safely.
How to use it
Answer only the questions that matter to you. The result appears as soon as you pick an answer that narrows the choice (who will use it, a device, a Yes) and changes as you add others.
- Who will use it. Minimum ages are set by each maker’s terms and range from 13 to 18. Under 18, several makers ask for a parent’s or guardian’s permission. The tool shows a short summary of each maker’s terms, with the link, so you can see the conditions.
- Where you will use it. All nine work in a web browser. For phones and computers, the tool marks an assistant “to check” when the maker’s pages do not list an app for that device. That does not mean there is no app: it means the pages read for the comparison did not say so.
- Menus in Italian. This is about the words on buttons and settings. It does not judge how well each assistant writes in Italian.
- Using it in Italy. DeepSeek is marked “to check”: on 30 January 2025 Italy’s data protection authority, the Garante, ordered a definitive limitation on processing the data of DeepSeek users in Italy, and no later decision changing it was found on 31 October 2026.
- Keeping your chats out of training. Training means using conversations to improve the AI. None of the nine says it leaves your chats out by default. Seven say they use them unless you switch it off or object: the tool puts these seven in the first group because you can keep your chats out, but only after you change the setting. Microsoft Copilot’s new app and Grok do not state the default. The tool gives each setting’s exact name and where to find it. What happens to what you type explains the rest.
- Apps you already use. This question changes no group. It adds a line when an assistant comes with something you have: Gemini with a Google account, Microsoft Copilot with a Microsoft account, ChatGPT and Meta AI inside WhatsApp, Grok inside X.
Each assistant in the result shows the reasons for its group, the free version as the maker describes it and the plans with their prices, each with a link to the official page and the day it was read. Prices are shown as the maker’s page shows them, in euros or in dollars; dollar prices are not converted.
How the tool decides
The rules are simple, and you can apply them by hand with the comparison table if the tool does not work in your browser.
- Teenager aged 13 to 17: fits if the maker’s minimum age is 13 or lower, does not fit if it is higher, to check if the maker gives no number. Child under 13: does not fit if the maker sets any minimum age (every one that gives a number sets 13 or more), to check if the maker gives no number. Adult: every assistant fits.
- Devices: for each device you tick, fits if the maker lists an app, to check if it does not list one, does not fit if the maker says there is none. Every assistant has a web version.
- Menus in Italian: fits if the maker lists Italian among the interface languages, to check if the maker publishes no list.
- Italy: fits if an official page shows the assistant is offered in Italy, does not fit if an official page says it is not, to check if that could not be verified.
- Training: fits if the maker says chats are used unless you switch a setting off or send an objection, and names that setting or form; to check if the maker does not say what happens by default, even when it offers a setting (on 31 October 2026, Grok, which has one, and Microsoft Copilot’s new app, which lists none).
One “does not fit” puts the assistant in the last group. Otherwise, one “to check” puts it in the middle group. Within each group the assistants are in alphabetical order. There are no points and no ranking, the rule for every comparison in this section.
What the tool does not tell you
- Which answers are better. Quality depends on the question, and this site does not test assistants itself. If an answer matters, check it against a reliable source: assistants can invent answers that sound true.
- What each assistant can do. Pictures, voice, web search, documents: the plans in the result list what each maker says they add, but the tool does not filter by them yet.
- The rules of your school or workplace. Some schools and companies allow only certain assistants or plans. Ask them before you choose.

Common questions
Which AI is best for me?
The one that fits your situation, not a ranking. Check who will use it, because minimum ages range from 13 to 18; the devices you have; whether you need the menus in Italian; and whether you want to keep your chats out of training. The tool on this page checks those facts for nine assistants from the makers' own pages.
Which AI can a 13-year-old use?
On 31 October 2026 seven of the nine assistants on this page set 13 as the minimum age, several of them asking for a parent's or guardian's permission under 18. Claude requires 18. DeepSeek gives no number: it says it is meant mainly for adults and allows under-18s only with a guardian's consent. Google sets 14 in Italy to manage your own Google Account. In Italy the law lets you agree on your own to an online service using your personal data from 14; under 14 a parent must give that consent (Italian privacy code, article 2-quinquies).
Which AI assistants have their menus in Italian?
On 31 October 2026 ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot listed Italian among the languages of their menus. DeepSeek, Grok, Meta AI, Mistral Vibe and Perplexity did not publish a list of menu languages on the pages read for the comparison.
Does the tool save my answers?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser: your answers are not sent to this site or to anyone else, and they are not stored. If you reload the page, they are gone.
