Sony Semiconductor Israel, formerly Altair Semiconductor, designs cellular IoT chipsets. The ALT1250 and ALT1350 integrate LTE-M and NB-IoT modems, GNSS positioning, a secure MCU and, on the newer part, Sub-GHz and 2.4 GHz radios for Wi-SUN and Bluetooth, so trackers, meters and wearables can combine cellular and short-range links. Sony acquired Altair in 2016 and sells the chips through module partners such as Murata and Quectel.
