Palitronica

Canadian company detecting cyber and physical anomalies in industrial equipment through side-channel signals

Palitronica develops Anvil, a sensor-based monitoring product that detects anomalies in programmable logic controllers and other industrial equipment by analysing electromagnetic and power side-channel emissions rather than network traffic. This allows it to spot firmware tampering and hardware faults on devices that cannot run agents. The company spun out of the University of Waterloo and works with defence and critical infrastructure organisations in Canada and the United States.
