Golioth is a cloud platform for constrained devices with a strong focus on the Zephyr real-time operating system. The device SDK handles provisioning, over-the-air updates, remote logging, settings and telemetry over CoAP with DTLS, and the cloud side offers pipelines that route device data to databases, dashboards and other clouds. It appeals to firmware teams that want cloud plumbing without becoming cloud engineers.
Compared with the large hyperscaler offerings, the platform is narrower and more opinionated, which is the point: it does fewer things, closer to how an embedded team actually works. It is a useful example of the “device-first” category of IoT platforms described in our platforms guide.
Focus: device management, ota updates.
